How to Fix Common Henkelman Vacuum Sealer Problems

How to Fix Common Henkelman Vacuum Sealer Problems

Henkelman vacuum sealers are built for reliability and performance — but even the best equipment needs maintenance. If your sealer isn’t performing like it used to, this guide from Invacus will help you identify common issues, fix them fast, and keep your machine running at peak efficiency.

1. Vacuum Pump Isn’t Reaching Full Pressure

Symptoms:

Weak vacuum or air left in the bag

- Longer cycle times

- Inconsistent seals

Possible Causes:

  • Low or dirty vacuum pump oil
  • Leaking lid gasket or chamber seal
  • Clogged air filter or blocked hose

Fix It:

  1. Check and replace the pump oil regularly using the manufacturer’s recommended type. You can always order more oil from Invacus Parts here Henkelman Vacuum Sealer Oil – Invacus Parts. If you have a table top model our video below will show you how to change the oil.

   2. Inspect the lid gasket for cracks or wear. Replace if needed — this is a simple and              inexpensive part. To replace check the gaskets here -> Henkelman Vacuum Sealer Lid Gaskets – Invacus Parts Our video below will help you on the lid gasket installation.

3. Clean or replace the air filter and vacuum hose if you notice buildup or blockages.

2. Poor or Incomplete Seal

Symptoms:

  • Bags not sealing completely
  • Inconsistent Sealing

Possible Causes:

  • Screws holding seal wire are loose
  • Damaged or dirty Teflon tape
  • Incorrect seal time
  • Seal cylinders are not pushing the seal bar up

Fix It:

  • Replace both the seal wire and Teflon tape regularly — they’re wear items and easy to install.
  • Clean the sealing bar to remove oil or debris.
  • Adjust the seal time

You can always order more seal wire and Teflon tape from a Henkelman service Kit! Make sure to check for your machine's correct service kit part number. Henkelman Service Kits – Invacus Parts

3. Machine Doesn’t Start or Cycle

Symptoms:

  • Power on but no vacuum cycle
  • Display not responding

Possible Causes:

  • Faulty microswitch
  • Loose electrical connection
  • Control board issue
  • Circuit Breaker tripped

Fix It:

  • Confirm power supply and fuses are in good condition.
  • Check microswitch sensor for proper function — replace if they don’t click or trigger. You can order more from Invacus Parts Henkelman Micro/ Lid Switch 0900458 – Invacus Parts
  • If the display still doesn’t respond, the control board may require replacement.

4. Excessive Noise or Oil Leakage

Symptoms:

  • Unusual pump noise
  • Oil leaking around the base

Possible Causes:

  • Overfilled pump oil
  • Worn seals or gaskets
  • Air leak causing cavitation
  • Exhaust Filter not properly installed

Fix It:

  • Drain and refill oil to the correct level.
  • Replace worn pump gaskets or seals.
  • If noise persists, consider a pump rebuild kit or professional service

Preventive Maintenance Tips

Regular maintenance is the best way to avoid breakdowns:

  • Change vacuum pump oil every 3-4 months
  • Clean sealing bars and replace Teflon tape weekly.
  • Inspect lid gaskets and air filters monthly.
  • Run the pump cleaning program at minimum twice per week.

Always use OEM Henkelman parts to maintain performance and warranty coverage.
